About Veronica
Veronica James is the energetic inspiration and founding force behind Urbandillo. Veronica grew up in New York where her natural talent for design was evident early in life. Friends and teachers remember her as the girl who was endlessly drawing detailed illustrations in notebooks. By the time she was in high school, Veronica was functioning as an "art director," organizing and managing teams of students to create billboard-sized posters that decorated the walls of the school.
Veronica is a fashion designer at her core, but chose instead to pursue a career path in graphic design. After graduating from the Nesbitt School of Design at Drexel University, Veronica began her career freelancing for many large advertising agencies. Motivated by a driving entrepreneurial spirit, she started her own design business at the age of 25. Her tenacity and talent paid off, landing several music industry accounts, designing CD covers for top-selling artists.
One day, while playing around with an idea for a packable bag, Veronica engineered a design that was able to not just compact down the body of a bag, but could also compact down apparel. Through this discovery and her lifelong enthusiasm for fashion, Veronica realized the potential in her concept and created an innovative line of on the go fashion that she named Urbandillo.
From her own life experiences and struggles, Veronica comes at design with a heart and a mission. Besides running Urbandillo, Veronica is passionate about empowering young people to believe in their possibilities and their potential. She donates her time and resources to her personal mission of helping young people in need.
Veronica lives in Nashville with her husband and three sons. She is an avid traveler and is always looking for the next adventure in life.
