I am thrilled at the stories that are starting to make their way back to me involving our “Smiley Blanket”. The blanket idea started as an inspiration and is proving to be the vehicle of love I had hoped it would be.
Recently, a man in Greenville, SC ordered ten blankets and well…. I was blown away at what he was planning to do with the blankets. Here is the message he sent….
I gotta admit… I do not love working retail. It takes me away from what I love the most and that is being creative and designing. BUT what I am enjoying the most about spending time at our “Pop Up Shop” has been the on going interaction with people, telling them our story and seeing their reaction to our products. “AWESOME” that is probably the word I hear most all day long from kids young and old when they watch our products shrink. The other thing that really motivates me is when I hear how someone loves their blanket.
This last week, I have been told from three different customers that they were buying a blanket to give to a friend or family member that was having to go through chemotherapy. One of the women came back today to tell us how much her friend LOVES the blanket. She went on to tell me that the blanket not only keeps her warm during her long treatments, but the smiley face and bright colors has also added a bright spot to a usually depressing time.
I get so excited to hear about ways the blanket is being used to brighten someone’s day. It is fascinating to watch where the blankets go to and how they are being used by people like you and me.
